As World Breastfeeding Week draws to a close, I wanted to share some of the portraits I captured of my dear friend Nadia & her son Rory as she weened him from breastfeeding. Though it was a difficult transition for her, she has never shied away from publicly and proudly providing her child with food produced by her body. She has never viewed it as a sexual act, but one as natural as breathing. In those intimate moments – as they gazed into each other’s eyes – their bond grew as mother and child. This motherly act is the reason women have breasts: to feed their offspring. Check out their beautiful & intimate session below.
Beautiful images that you captured so wonderfully. I’m sure they’ll both cherish these photos for years to come.
Thank you Sharetha! I also provided her with a canvas print of one of the images and she was on the verge of tears!
Beautiful images! She will cherish forever.
Thank you Charmekia! She also cried when I provided her with a canvas print of one of the images as a gift!
I wish I would’ve done a weaning session with my son! I miss breastfeeding so much.
♥ It’s truly an intimate moment that only a mother understands.
